It will be a chance of try a great variety of wines, some of which only recently introduced in Hong Kong and spend the evening in one of the most central locations in the city, along with finger food and good music!

The theme of the night is Venetian masks, but anything classy works!

The inspiring idea comes from venetian masks, but anything classy works 🧐

As a the new collection of wines "Quatri" by @balan.distribution comes to Hong Kong, we had the chance to try them out at a a fantastic preview dinner at Ritz Carlton's Tosca restaurant.

Placed at the 102F of the ICC, it had a magnificent view of Victoria harbour, and the interiors are equally elegant and refined: truly one of the best environments we experienced in the city!

We were welcomed by warm and experienced Danilo together with their very well prepared staff.

The menu we tried was "Ricordi" (Memories) a five courses meal combining mediterranean and asian ingredients. The Barletta onion Wagyu beef and the blue lobster past were fabulous and instantly among our favourite dishes ever.

Every dish was paired with the new wines: a Prosecco, a Chardonnay, a Verduzzo and a Pinot Grigio. Each Quatri wine has its own defined character with rich bouquets.
With three coming from bio and one from a biodynamic vineyard in the Friuli region, each tells the story of a local production that only makes use of what nature provides without sacrificing the highest quality standards.

Quatri will be soon available in Hong Kong and we will provide more information about these wines in the upcoming posts!

🗼Tokyo wine notes #2 🍷

Second and last (for now 🤔) Tokyo wine story, this time we are at "Book Road" between the sparkly Akihabara and more quiet Okachimachi.

Hidden between a labyrinth of alleys is this cozy 12-seater restaurant/winery that can be easy to miss for the untrained eye.

Divided on two floors, on the upper floor Book Road offers a tasting menu for lunch for 2,500¥ that will give you one tasty appetizer (that day it was duck breast, fish and broccoli soup, one main dish (we got a tasty fish based pasta) and three glasses of wines: white (Chardonnay), orange (Orange Delaware) and red (Merlot)

All the wines are organic and made fully in Japan by Book Road themselves!

As previously happened with other Japanese wines we found very defined and sharp flavours that might give the impression of a slight imbalance in some instances. That said, all of them had a clear personality and every glass was a suprise, so definitely an exciting tasting!

The very kind miss Ogura explained in English all dishes and all wines and also treated us a very tasty cassata!

After lunch on the ground floor miss Sugo hosts the full range of Boom Road's production, their "children" as she defined them. You can get a glass for 350¥ so definitely a bargain and a good chance to chat with other attendees who enjoy sharing their love for wine.

We absolutely recommend paying Book Road a visit while in Tokyo to spend a lunch break at a lovely spot to test special wines made with a lot of love.

We will definitely be back! 🌞

🗼Tokyo wine notes 🍷

From the industrial interiors to the exotic collection of wines, @no.501.bottletokyo is definitely worth a visit for wine enthusiasts while traveling through the city.

🚶Located in a quiet area between the fancy Omotesando and bustling Shibuya, no.501 is the place to go if you want to try different and unusual wines that you wouldn't usually notice from Italian or French catalogues.

🍷The wines we tasted were most on the sweeter/light/fruity side, definitely peculiar and probably adapted to the japanese taste.

They were mostly organic wines, and personally I found the quite experimental, and they might come across as unbalanced to someone used to more firm and rounded European reds.

I don't recall ever trying such kind of wines in Hong Kong or in Italy.

🧀We accompanied the tasting with some Japanese cheese ranging from Hokkaido to Okinawa: definitely a nice surprise!

The staff is very nice and they can speak a bit of English.

Worth a visit for a nice hour of organic wine from across the world in a very avant&-garde environment!
