Falanghina del sannio DOC – Sant’Agata dei Goti 2019

Falanghina today is considered one of the most interesting whites of Campania production. We owe the success of this wonderful wine to Leonardo Mustilli, because he was the first to rediscover it and bottle it in purity in the 1970s. The Mustilli Company is still the only producer in the territory of origin of the DOC Sant’Agata dei Goti, the smallest and most typical Designation of Origin of Campania. In 2004 he published the book “FALANGHINA”, with the collaboration of the food and wine journalist Luciano Pignataro and the ampelographer Antonella Monaco, in which the origin of the vine, the history and success of this wine are told.

About this wine

Leonardo Mustilli in 1976 sensed the potential of Falanghina grape before anyone else, making it into pure wine. Today it is one of the most representative realities of the south and since then Mustilli has taken care of a shining pearl in the Sant’Agata dei Goti sub-area.

VINIFICATION AND AGING Grapes from the Presta, Pozzillo and Cesco di Nece vineyards in the municipality of S. Agata dei Goti, selected and harvested by hand. Fermentation in steel vats at a controlled temperature of 15 ° C for about two weeks. Aging in steel with periodic batonnage.
COLOR Straw yellow, with bright golden and green reflections.
BOUQUET intense, persistent, fruity with hints of red-skinned fruit such as annurca apple and tropical fruit, floral and delicately spiced.
